The Playground Committee is very excited to present Phase 1 of playground improvements to the track. First, a “ninja-like” structure similar to what is pictured below will be installed with black “brick” edging and mulch included. Committee members are meeting next week with playground company representative to finalize pricing, location and time frame for installation. Also included in Phase 1 will be leveling of the kickball field at the track. Finally, at the playground behind the PK-2nd grade hall, the school system has graciously removed the red monkey bars and over Thanksgiving break will be 1) moving the rubber mulch from that play area and adding it to existing rubber mulch in another play area; 2) removing the black “bricks” from the area to be recycled and used in the new “ninja” area at the track; and 3) laying sod (bought by the PTO) in this play area leaving a grassy area for students to run around and play on. There are also 8 replacements seats for the swing set on the track ordered and the county has agreed to install them.
